When will Thunder's Jalen Williams return from hamstring injury?

The Oklahoma City Thunder won't be at full strength for their most important game of the season. Jalen Williams, who's missed three games during the Western Conference Finals with a left hamstring injury, has been ruled out of Game 7.

Williams made a valiant effort to play through his injury in Game 6 but was ineffective, recording more turnovers (2) than points (1) across 10 minutes of play. The 2024-25 third-team All-NBA selection had an injury-hobbled regular season, playing just 33 games after recovering from offseason wrist surgery only to suffer a right hamstring strain not long after his return.

With Williams sidelined, the Thunder have turned to guard Jared McCain in the starting lineup. McCain has taken full advantage of coach Mark Daigneault's confidence, giving the Thunder an edge with his pesky perimeter defense and 3-point shooting. He famously fell victim to Bismack Biyombo and Mason Plumlee's hard fouls at the end of Game 5.

Ajay Mitchell, a valuable guard off the Thunder bench, will also miss Game 7. Neither Williams nor Mitchell have a concrete timetable to return, so it's unclear what their availability would look like should the Thunder advance to their second straight NBA Finals.

The highly anticipated Game 7 against the San Antonio Spurs tips off at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
