Kate Middleton has been called a "pro" by her husband, Prince William, after he revealed she completes royal paperwork before going to bed at night.

Just weeks ago, the Princess of Wales undertook a solo international visit to Italy with her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

The purpose of the trip, which included a stop in Reggio Emilia, was to spark a global dialogue about the significance of childhood.

This particularly focuses on the first five years of a child's life and how these formative years can influence their futures - a topic Kate is deeply committed to and which has been described as her "life's work."

During an appearance on Heart Radio last week, William commended his wife and her dedication to children and the early years.

The heir to the British throne said his wife is deeply committed to the subject, describing her as a "proper pro" in the field, reports the Express.

He disclosed, "She spends, God knows how much time now, looking through all the paperwork. She's a proper pro on early years. Most evenings I'm fighting to get past in the bedroom, what paperwork that she's got lined up, ready to read."

It is understood Kate dedicates her evenings to reading about the projects, research and initiatives related to childhood and early years.

This is presumably something she does after spending time with her own children and putting them to bed, with the Princess of Wales recognized as a very hands-on mom with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Beyond her royal duties, William was quick to highlight that his wife is also an "amazing" mother.

During his radio appearance, the Prince of Wales remarked, "She's an amazing mum and an amazing wife and literally our family couldn't cope without her, so she's been absolutely stunning, really has."
