Kate Hudson is celebrating a major family milestone.

The Oscar-nominated *Song Sung Blue* actress shared a series of photos with a sweet, reflective caption in honor of her eldest son, Ryder Robinson, graduating from New York University.

"I remember staring into the eyes of baby Ryder. I was young but unwavering as a mother," Hudson wrote in her caption. "I thought I knew exactly what I was doing. Isn't time a beautiful reminder to allow reflection and consideration of all we thought we knew, yet had no idea?"

The *Glass Onion* actress went on to note all the questions she had about her son when he was a newborn. "The future was ahead and I wondered, 'Who will this child be one day?'" she recalled. "'What will be their favorite food? Will they be funny? Serious? Difficult? Will they be fun to be around? Please, God, make them cool. Will they get through life with perspective? Will they be happy?' The last being the most important to me, but the endless questions."

Hudson admitted that her parenting experience has included a constant undercurrent of anxiety. "It floats daily, and I believe that most mothers have it even if they can't quite pin down the feeling," she said. "'I haven't heard from them in a couple days. Are they staying out of trouble? Are they being kind to people? Can they manage? Am I being too hard on them? Should I not call? Should I call more?' I've spent most of my adult life with this floating friend, anxiety."

The *Running Point* star also celebrated her son's strengths. "He is fun, vibrant, kind. His friends are all awesome and unique, none the same," she wrote. "He loves his family, his siblings, and, gosh darn it, he loves his mom."

Hudson continued, "On this celebration party night I felt a young man carrying great love out into the world. And that is the greatest comfort as a mother. To witness him, ready for the next adventure."

The actress concluded, "I'm allowing myself a quiet moment of pride, and I hope many of the mamas and papas out there having the same experience this past week are doing the same. Here's to the graduates!"

Hudson's photo gallery included multiple pics of Ryder's father, the Black Crowes singer-guitarist Chris Robinson, to whom she was married from 2000 to 2007. The musician was pictured alongside his wife, Camille Robinson, whom he married in 2020.

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, to whom Hudson was engaged from 2011 to 2014, was also pictured in the gallery. Bellamy and Hudson share one son, Bingham Hawn Bellamy.

Hudson recently received an Oscar nomination for her turn in *Song Sung Blue*. The actress told ** how her loved ones reacted hours after the news broke.

"My family came over for coffee, and we just sat and talked about how lucky we all are to be in this business and how extraordinary it is," she said at the time. "We talked about all of the great movies and kind of unpacked the year, and I just feel super grateful to be a part of all of it. And that's what we did."
