The actress revealed on a recent episode of *Hot Ones* that Cruise once uttered a truly iconic sentence when the pair were stuck on wires shooting a mentally and physically painful sequence for their 2014 sci-fi film.

“We were doing this scene where we were in a drop ship and we’re in those massive armored suits,” Blunt said. “And when you’re surrounded by Tom Cruise’s enthusiasm, it kind of bleeds in you and you feel like you can’t let him down by complaining about anything. It’s a very powerful force coming off him.”

However, as they continued to shoot in their heavy gear, Blunt explained that not even Cruise’s inherent optimism could keep her afloat.

“I’d kind of had it. It was very hot in there. My suit weighed 80 pounds and I’m in a harness being lifted up, so the entire weight of my body — and 85 pounds — is on my nether regions,” she said. “And I’m not feeling great about it, wondering if I’ll be able to have children one day.”

And, after a while, it became clear that Cruise wasn’t exactly thrilled about their predicament, either.

“We’re swinging there and I could see Tom, the enthusiasm was starting to unravel a little bit. So I knew I had an in, you know?” she said. “And he was getting a bit frustrated with how long things were taking to shoot, and yelling, ‘Please roll!’”

It was at that moment Blunt chose to vent to her costar, who replied in the Cruise-iest of Cruise ways. “I just looked at him and I went, ‘This f‑‑‑ing sucks,’” she said. “And he looked at me and he went: ‘It’s a challenge.’”

This isn’t the first time that Blunt has shared the anecdote, having previously told the story with Cruise present on a 2014 episode of *The Graham Norton Show*.

Cruise also took a moment to clarify his ultra cool remark at the time. “You know what? If I start complaining, it’s on,” he said through his laughter. “If I start going down, it’s on.”

But Blunt simply wasn’t buying it. “And I went, 'Tom! It *sucks*!’” she teased. “And he went, ‘Okay!’”
