A Peaky Blinders Sequel Is Coming to NetflixNetflix
The world of Peaky Blinders is set to continue. Netflix announced that following the feature film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, there will be a sequel series created by Steven Knight.
“I am thrilled that we are announcing a new era of Peaky Blinders, moving the story to post-war Birmingham in the early 50s,” Knight said. “We are incredibly fortunate to have Jamie Bell taking the role of Tommy Shelby’s oldest son, Duke, and to have Charlie Heaton also leading the cast. There are more exciting cast announcements to come, and Peaky is on the road again.” He added, “Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel, and it will be a hell of a ride.”
The show will pick up where the events of The Immortal Man left off, with Jamie Bell taking over the role of Duke Shelby from Barry Keoghan.

Per Netflix, “In this new era of Peaky Blinders, a decade after World War Two, the race to rebuild Birmingham becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and jeopardy. At its blood-soaked heart is Duke Shelby (Jamie Bell): older, wiser, more ambitious, and most certainly more dangerous.” Also set to join the cast include Charlie Heaton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski, in unspecified roles.
“Peaky is very personal to me because the original stories were told to me by my parents who lived in the thirties in Small Heath in Birmingham, and remembered the people who were then known as Peaky Blinders,” Knight told T&C last year. “When they told me the stories when I was a kid, I was like, ‘This is amazing.’ It was like my wild west, and I always thought it was a great story—and I know that the story continued after the Second World War.”
He added, “I like to do a lot of different stuff, but then Peaky is there and it’s almost like it’s not up to me to finish it. The image in my mind is: Imagine you’re in a smoke-filled room and you’re following a rope. You dunno where it’s going to end, but as long as it’s there, you keep following it. That’s Peaky.”
